Crossover Church in Tampa, Florida (Home of Flavor Fest) has been known for it’s innovative ministry in the Urban Community. Over the past decade the church has seen incredible growth under the leadership of Tommy Kyllonen who is also known in CHH community as Urban D. Less than two years ago the church took a huge leap of faith and moved into a former Toys R’ Us building in one of the roughest neighborhoods in the state of Florida.

The impact has been amazing. The church trains leaders through their annual conference, through coaching and creating resources… but they realized that still wasn’t enough. Crossover has now partnered with School of Urban Missions Theological Seminary to launch a cohort at Crossover’s campus. Students can get a fully accredited BA in Biblical Studies, Pastoral, Missions, Church Planting or Youth Ministry. Masters are also available in Biblical Studies and Organizational Leadership. Financial aid and grants are available and the school is about a third the price of your average Bible College or Christian University. The goal is to launch people into urban ministry with little or no debt. The unique thing about the school is that you get hands on ministry experience at a thriving urban church that is reaching their community for Christ. Students actually are required to do 8 hours of ministry a week that they get classroom credit for.

Crossover Urban Leadership College launches August 20th. To find out more information check out www.crossoverchurch.org/culc or email their cohort director Dr. Pickens at drpickens@sum.edu
