We just wanted to let our reader community know that we have some changes underway here at Jam The Hype.

We have a lot of surface area here at JTH. We are a leading platform for Christian urban culture that encompasses a 24/7 online radio station, live streaming TV, mobile app, and website. We have WAY more work to do than we could ever possibly accomplish as there is so much to stay on top of. The famous evangelist Luis Palau says, “God always gives you a two-dollar vision, and one dollar to do it with.” How true this is. So, whether it’s work you got to do, or straight up dollars, there just is never enough, especially if you’re on the mission God gave you to do. Look at Noah. God gave him a big vision, yet he started with nothing. The ark took him years to build, he was laughed at, and then he still had to wait for rain.

Here at Jam The Hype we have two basic roles, mainly with Chris Chicago at the mic and 1s and 2s, and until recently, Mike Laxton on the computer keyboard. However, with Mike’s role, we realized that one job was bigger than one person could accomplish. Mike had a BIG job. We wanted to get Mike help but it wasn’t in the budget to do so. Like other media sites, even super big ones, we rely on volunteers. And, like running a household, we have to keep our spending in line with our income. As we launched on the scene, we’ve spared no expense to bring you great content. But, the Christian Hip Hop movement is still in it’s infancy. There is so much to come. The market still needs to be developed. Companies, non-profits, and so many others will hopefully support the movement through tour support, sponsorship, and pure elbow grease in getting the word out, and we mean, The Word (Capital W). So, instead of hiring more people, we decided to cut and split Mike’s BIG role into several “mini jobs,” some of which will be paid and some will be volunteer. Yes, we still could have paid Mike to stay on in a mini job, but it would not be enough to support him, nor would it have accommodated his professional goals for growth. So, we had to part ways with Mike so he could support his family and grow his career, yet at the same time live within our means, while also adding more crowdsourcing to our equation. Additionally, in this transition, we are announcing that NewReleaseTuesday.com is our new ad agency and will be representing our portfolio of marketing tools.

All said, Mike Laxton has been an incredible asset to the Jam the Hype team, as many of you have experienced first hand. We have a good relationship with Mike and we will continue to tap Mike for various things now and then. Our prayers are with him and his family, and his amazingly cute kids.

We are entering a new chapter where we are going to attempt more. We will have more video coverage. We will have deeper, in-depth content. We will be at more events. And we will provide more powerful advertising packages for you who want exposure. So, what does our staff look like now, and who do you call if you want to interact with us?
