Open Heart Surgery – “a surgery in which the patient’s heart is open and surgery is performed on the internal structures of the heart.”

An open heart can have many different meanings behind it. That’s exactly what you’re going to get on this mixtape. This project has given me the chance to not only re-introduce myself but also allow those things that are dear to me to be exposed and seen by all. The reality is that we are all born with a heart that is in desperate need of surgery. Unknowingly we continue throughout life as if everything is ok until one day we are faced with the truth of our condition. This either results in us refusing to adhere to this truth while continuing to live with a heart that will eventually fail, or going through a surgery that provides us a new heart that will change us eternally. On this project you will get glimpses from my life prior to meeting the great physician, the reality of what life is like while being operated on, as well as how to continue on with life after leaving the hospital. There’s a huge dose of transparency, honesty, failures, victories and THE GOSPEL that you will be submerged in. Encouraged by my Sister in the faith Jasmine Le’Shea and her story that you can hear in KB‘s “Heart Song” I have been inspired to share with you all how symbolically this Open Heart Surgery has changed my life forever.
