As an adult, Bizzle moved from Houston to his hometown Los Angeles to pursue his dream to be a rapper after being offered a lot of money by a record label. He said that some of the label’s finances came from prostitution and drugs. “In the midst of that I had hard times. Hard times expose your character. I did things that I probably would have never done; I tried selling weed here, selling pills here. My last straw was getting involved with prostitution as well.” During that time, he not doing well; he said that he was living out of his car and sleeping on people’s floors.

He became connected with a prostitute and made money off of her. “One day, she wants me to go with her to pick up her brother, and I don’t know where we’re going though. We end up pulling up to a church and her little brother is drumming at the church… I sit there and I come to find out that this is her family’s church and her father is the pastor. It rocked me to be back in the church that I had left when the money started coming, but it didn’t rock me enough to leave it alone.” He kept making money, and later on Bizzle believes that God showed him how far away from Him he was while thinking that he was still with God.

“One day He just broke me down. Since then I’ve just wanted to submit to God. There was nothing that I had that I still wanted more than God.”
