Je’kob follows up his continuous string of solid releases over the last 2 years with his newest single entitled “I Believe”. Download it HERE. Watch the video premiere HERE. The single is the first radio single off of his highly anticipated sophomore album entitled “This Side Of The Sky”, due to release in Oct 2014 on Save the City Records. We asked Je’kob to tell us a little about what he’s been working on. Here’s what he said.
“I Believe is the first single I decided to release off of the album because not only does it have a very poppy, & hopefully, memorable hook, but the lyrical content in the song really is the theme of this upcoming album. The song focuses on me as a kid going through the phase to phase journey of wonderment, into revelation, ultimately into the proclamation of my belief in God. This believe for me began with the simple & logical evidence that I saw all around me that I just could not deny. It’s based on Romans 1:20, & paints the picture that the proof of God is literally everywhere we look so that we truly are without excuse.
The album overall will be heavily focused on Creation & the meaning of life. I really feel like for many of us that needs to be the starting point you know? There are so many people out there that just believe whatever they hear & call it fact just because much of the scientific community harbors an atheistic view when it comes to questions like where did we all come from, & why are we here. They tend to forget that the list of scientific giants that we owe so much to in the field of science were/are very strong believers in God & intelligent design.
Some of these giants have been quoted saying things like
“The more I study science, the more I believe in God.”
–Albert Einstein, The father of modern physics
or
“It may seem bizarre, but in my opinion science offers a surer path to God than religion.”
–Physicist Paul Davies, the winner of the 2001 Kelvin Medal issued by the Institute of Physics and the winner of the 2002 Faraday Prize issued by the Royal Society (amongst other awards)
or
“I build molecules for a living. I can’t begin to tell you how difficult that job is. I stand in awe of God because of what he has done through his creation. My faith has been increased through my research. Only a rookie who knows nothing about science would say science takes away from faith. If you really study science, it will bring you closer to God.”
–James Tour, one of the world’s leading nanoscientists
I think ultimately we make things so much more complicated than they need to be. My pastor, Miles McPherson, puts it so simply when he says “Nothing has ever made Something”. Everything, everywhere, points to Intelligent Design, & the hand of a creator. I pray that this single & album will help nudge those who need it into realizing how much God loves us to have created us in His image, & to have given us Free Will.
Humans are constantly creating because we were created in the image of the Master Creator!
It’s really the most beautiful reality in this life that I hope I can drive home with this record.”
