HONORABLE MENTIONS
(Who may possibly drop official releases in 2014)

Truth be told, outside of those in his circle….we, the people, have no real idea if a sophomore album or new mixtape from Lavoisier is dropping in 2014, if there’s any dropping at all.  Lately, evidence has shown that the MC, known also as “Captain O.G.,” has been in school studying coding and has been building a rep on Facebook for interesting, challenging, and to some, ‘provocative’ posts that get at least a 100 ‘likes’ and 60 to 70 comments full of adoration and/or reasonable doubt.  Still, it’s not as if the dude hasn’t been dropping great music ever so often.  He released “Do This Everyday” with GOD OVER MONEY’S BIZZLE, guest appeared on mixtapes from FLO & SELAH THE CORNER, and dropped his stellar version of Drake’s “Pound Cake” called “Pounds of Cake,” so new 2014 material from ‘Vois is always a definite possibility.

Like Lavoisier, fans of this Brooklyn MC have been waiting for a sophomore project from the artist born Quason Durant for a long time!  Artistically, he’s been somewhat busy in the last decade, appearing on songs with NYC CHH artists like Slave to Lavoisier, and he’s hosted major events within the NY CHH community.  That said….we, the people, would like to get a new project from Q way sooner than later and word is that his EP, The Stone Which The Builders Rejected, may finally be it for 2014.  Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this dynamic emcee comes through for us.

In late FALL 2013, this Queens based emcee dropped a phenomenal EP, called SILENCE IS BETRAYAL, that had powerful production and confrontation lyricism that was well written and urgent all at once.  The project has been a ‘slow burner’ so far, in terms of mass popularity, but more and more people are starting to catch up the brilliance and evangelistic qualities this NYC artist has to offer.
