One major change between B.Reith’s previous projects and Heart On My Sleeve is the new EP’s domination by singing rather than rapping. “I look at songs like snapshots. I look at albums like an album of photos. In this season of my life, those songs are where I’m at.” He believes that his current transition will lead more into singing, but does not want to phase out his rapping, to use his own words.
“As I continue to evolve and grow, I think hip-hop will more than likely be a smaller percentage of the Polaroids of those albums, but I’m definitely not going to give up on it. I love it just as much as I did back in the 90s when I fell in love with it.”
If a listener only had time to listen to three songs from Heart On My Sleeve, B.Reith would want them to hear “Winning Feeling,” “Can’t Stop Loving You,” and “Roll With The Punches.”
“It blows me away at how beautiful what God made is and that inspires me because I’m made in His image and I’m a reflection of him, so I want to make stuff that is awesome.”
