Music has always been a part of B.Reith’s life. As a child, he learned to play piano. In middle school, he tried to learn to play guitar, but gave up because it was too difficult.

“So then I got into drums. You didn’t have to know any music theory or read notes. I could just use my ear, that’s what I’m gifted at.”

In 8th grade, he started listening to hip-hop and connected to it well. In college, B.Reith began to realize his love and passion for music and the way melodies and chords come together to form songs. During those years, he tried again to learn to play guitar, and he succeeded. “I love music and that’s what I’m trying to hold onto.”

B.Reith grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but felt that it’s limited resources for music artists would make it difficult to have a career there. In 2003, he released an album called Urgent Message, and “I didn’t have anybody to tell it to. I didn’t have a fan base, so I started reaching out to people that could help.”

His father knew someone in Chicago who connected him with someone in Nashville, Tennessee.

“I just wanted to go to the best place where I though God called me to have the best chance at success.”

When he visited Nashville for the first time, B.Reith knew it was the right place for him.
