A few weeks before Man vs. Machine came out, he released the single “All I Got” featuring Social Club and Norman Michael.
Who would’a known, Big Mike you would OD, here we are two weeks later burying your mom for the same thing.
Mike was a good friend that he had known since middle school.
“Mike had been battling this heroin addiction for a grip now. I’m not even sure if there is a stronghold like heroin. It seems like it is impossible to kick once you start it. You watch somebody kick it and then fall back into that lifestyle, kick it and fall back again, and recently he met a girl, had twin daughters, and it seemed like things were on the up and up, everything was good. He got with the wrong crowd. Anybody familiar with the drug lifestyle knows that it’s so shaky. You’re constantly meeting people that you don’t know. Your addiction is in the driver’s seat, controlling your actions and decisions. I think he just got around a bunch of people he didn’t know and trust. I don’t know if it was a bad batch or whatever. I’ve never messed with that drug. He passed away. I remember being at his funeral and a couple of his family members were speaking while they were actually high on the same drug, including his mom. A few weeks later, she ended up passing away too. It was pretty overwhelming.”
I know that I’m not the only one who struggles through certain things. I just express what is on my heart with the confidence that someone is going to identify with it, and let God put the seeds wherever.
