FUTUREGEN is the name of AMP’s new album, and the title stands for “Future Generation.” According to Ock, the album is a rallying cry for young people, the generation of the future, to use their talents and skills that God has given them to follow The Great Commission.
“It’s an album about choosing to worship Jesus through struggling and suffering, and choosing to live for Jesus in the midst of uncertainty.”
He says that it is very important for people of the future generation to walk with each other in their path of following Christ.
“The sound is trying to bring the modern elements together but still trying to make it an AMP sound album,” said Ock.
To record it, the members would gather in the studio, and Ock, the producer of the bunch, would “shoot out different types of ideas, different beats, skeletons, rough draft ideas. Sam’s production definitely jump-starts a lot of ideas,” said J. Han. They often use Google Docs to share song ideas with each other, and use those writings to inspire their songs. He also said,
“Recording it was pretty fun. I think we were going to Australia, but me and you [Sam] pretty much recorded all of our parts in fourteen hours. Literally we were leaving in a few hours. I remember when I finished [recording], I finished packing.”
