Bio/Notes: Good News can come in various degrees or levels of goodness, but the greatest good news is the gospel of Jesus Christ. John Pendleton, also known as PaperBoy, is determined to “deliver” this good news of Jesus Christ through rap music. Raised by two loving Christian parents in the suburbs of North Carolina, PaperBoy heard the gospel and responded with faith in Jesus Christ at the tender age of five years old.
Like many of our youth today, growing up PaperBoy felt the pressure from peers to fit in and began to compromise his faith to feel accepted. When his family moved from the quiet suburbs of North Carolina to the more urban context of Mobile, Alabama, this compromise only worsened. In the summer before his 10th grade year, PaperBoy was confronted once again with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through rap music and powerful preaching. His life was completely transformed by the gospel and with his newfound zeal for evangelism, PaperBoy decided to use one of the tools that helped him grow in the faith: rap music.
Always a fan and composer of rap music, PaperBoy now attempts to use his talents to glorify God and present the Gospel to his listeners. PaperBoy has been delivering the good news through rap music since 2006 with his release of The Good News EP. His highly anticipated debut album NewsFlash was released on October 27, 2009 and features hit singles such as “Get Up” and “Tell The Truth”. Seeing how God has used rap music in his own life, PaperBoy is living proof that God uses rappers and rap music to communicate The Gospel to people of all ages, races and nationalities. PaperBoy now strives to communicate the gospel to believers and non-believers alike through rap music. |
