Save the City Records is proud to announce a new partnership with Latebloom, the record label owned by decorated producer John Williams, also known as “Tha Kracken!” who has worked with nationally known artists Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, Mya, Jermaine Dupree, Cherish, Young Joc, Bow Wow, and Omarion.  Under the new agreement, Save the City Records will license and release recordings from Latebloom.

Tha Kracken says, “I’m excited about the new joint venture and to have Save the City Records help us spread our wings to expand our brand.”

Derek Hoiem, the owner of Save the City Records says, “We are impressed with the work and creative vision at Latebloom, and they fit into our expanding library of music to the Christian music marketplace that brings a modern, competitive sound that fits the changing demographics of our cities.  The Christian music industry should strive to keep pushing artistic boundaries so that people not familiar with the genre will be attracted to the music and the message.  We’re finding today’s music listener is more discerning than ever but also tired of tabloid lyrics and trash.  We want to develop and deliver music that provides the current and positive alternative that youth and their parents are looking for.”

The first recording to fall under the new agreement will be from artist Chris Cobbins.  “I’m really excited to be connected with Save the City Records!  New ears means new opportunities for truth to be spread, and that’s our mission.”

Chris Cobbins has been featured on albums by artists such as Lecrae, Trip Lee, PRo, Anthony Evans, and Flame.  He has won a Stellar award for his work on Trip Lee’s album, and a Dove award for his work on Lecrae’s Rehab: the Overdose.  Chris received another Dove Award Nomination for his work with Flame and a Grammy Award Nomination for his work on Lecrae’s Rehab.  Chris released his first solo EP, The Medicine, in 2010.  The EP garnered critical acclaim, and the single from the album, “Chase Me Down,” received widespread airplay on Christian CHR radio stations around the country.  The Medicine was also Chris’s first project with the Dove Award-Winning producer, Tha Kracken!
