As a genre, Christian Hip Hop continues to make major moves. In the last few years, Christian Hip Hop’s most visible artist, Lecrae, has been infiltrating the mainstream market at levels our community has never seen before.

He has won a Grammy (Gravity), sold hundreds of thousands of records, garnered significant mainstream exposure (BET/XXL/The Source/AllHipHop/HipHopDX etc.), collaborated with the likes of B.o.B, Chaka Khan, Big K.R.I.T, No Malice of Clipse, Posdnous of De La Soul, Terminology, Statik Selektah, Don Cannon, and more.

You can now add being featured in a major motion picture to his résumé. The Reach Records leader will be involved in a film titled Believe Me, a movie that will also include Alex Russell, Zachary Knighton, Johanna Braddy, Easy A, and Max Adler according to The Hollywood Reporter. Lecrae’s debut movie is classified as a comedy.

Christian Hip Hop artists aren’t in movies to often, so DaSouth thought it would cool to highlight a few other times they have.
