Brinson tackles suicide prevention in his latest track “I’m Still Alive”. The video was produced by none other than Will Thomas, and the screenplay was written by Brinson. “This was one of the songs that I intentionally put on the album to have impact. I get more reactions, and more testimonies from this track when I perform it live because it touches people. I feel that this is an important topic as we all can suffer depression. People I’ve met who have experienced depression have all said the same thing about how they’ve felt, and they never told anyone. I’ve talked to Christian rappers who have gone through it, pastors who have gone through it. So, I put the situations in the video from the stories that people have shared with me.”
Brinson didn’t want to just release something to the normal music outlets, but to reach out to the organizations that are making a difference in people’s lives through suicide prevention. One of them is the National Suicide Prevention Line, which can be reached at 800-273-8255. Be sure to share the video with friends.
