On August 17, Andy Mineo released his verse for the viral social media trend titled “So Gone Challenge,” which entails spitting bars over the instrumental for Monica’s 2003 song, “So Gone.”

GRAMMY award-winning R&B singer, Monica, gave a positive review of Mineo’s “So Gone Challenge” verse.

“Well, if you ain’t know what the challenge was, you sure bodied it, baby,” Monica said. “You came through. I love the energy too. I love that you spoke your mind but not in a shady way. I always have agreed. You know, if you don’t know how to handle your business, don’t throw not one ounce, not one drop, not one smidgen of shade. So I loved your challenge, Andy. It was dope. I love the fact that your energy was how it’s supposed to be. Almost like a cypher.”
