It is with sadness that we report, Nelson Chu aka DJ Official, has passed away at the age of 39, due to complications related to his recent double lung transplant surgery. The Christian Hip-Hop community has prayed for DJ Official and his family over the last few years. He had to retire from the music industry in 2014 because of health issues.
Official’s impact on urban culture is massive. The Entermission-crafter is well-respected in the music world for touring and producing for award-winning record label Reach Records and iconic CHH group The Cross Movement. More importantly, he was known as a great husband, father, and minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Keep DJ Official’s family in prayer as they deal with the loss of our brother in Christ. We send our sincerest condolences to his family. DJ Official will be missed.
