PRESS RELEASE:

Back in October 2015, the SLAP Battles team took their show on the road, as they traveled to Tampa, FL for Flavor Fest 2015. They were there to participate in the urban ministry conference as artists, students, and volunteers; however, they had to get in a couple of battles during the lunch breaks. After a brief hiatus, they are back with the first release from their time in Tampa, “Success vs. Fear.”

This battle takes on an issue that many people struggle with but can be scared to talk about. In addition, to giving a voice to the fear that many face, this battle also gave perspectives on success that go beyond money, notoriety and accomplishments. “So many people let fear keep them from success while others fear success all together. The only way we can get past fear is to conquer it, which is what I set out to do,” said Cutright in reference to his role as “Success.”

When asked about his approach to playing the role of “Fear,” B. Meads said, “My aim was to show the personification of fear itself. The manifestation of fear in our lives, homes, ministries, our choices… Fear is one of our greatest enemies. Fear is one of God’s greatest enemies. For God is love, and there’s no fear in love. I wanted to question how “Successful” one could be if fearful. Fear is strongly linked to pride, and is a big problem that exists in Christianity today. I wanted to expose it.”

Up next is another battle from SLAP’s trip to Flavor Fest, pitting Zach Is Nobody vs. Ike Hill in the battle of “Patience vs. Instant Gratification.”

SLAP is currently in the process of planning for 2016 and beyond. Keep your eyes on all their social media and website for updates.
