Pregnancy announcements seem to be abundant these days. More and more videos, vlogs, and adorable baby shoes on Instagram flood our every day social media feeds. But, the Shocklee’s have successfully won the hearts of over a million viewers on YouTube and over 24 million views by Today.com with their “Lips Are Movin” parody, “Our Family’s Growin”.
Jack “Shoc” Shocklee, CEO of Shae Shoc Records and wife, recording artist Beckah Shae, announced the coming of their third child with the help of their two daughters Grace, 6, and Joy, 8 to the tune of Meghan Trainor’s “Our Lips Are Movin”. As of yesterday, even Ashton Kutcher reposted it Facebook asking what his fans thought of the announcement.
The UK Daily Mail, Inside Edition, Parents Magazine, Today Parents, and countless shares on Facebook continue to give the announcement video more momentum.
Jack, who wrote the lyrics, told Today.com, “Around the 14th or 15th take, the girls had enough but they ended up being really good sports and we all had a good time.” You’ll see the girls, Grace and Joy, doing their own choreography in the backseat throughout the song. “Between all the laughter and messing up some of the lyrics,” Beckah says, “it was hard to nail down.” Eighteen takes later, it finally came together and became one of the most viral pregnancy announcements to date.
Since being posted on October 1st, “Our Family’s Growin” has gone viral, collecting over 500,000 views in the past four days putting them over one million views on YouTube alone. We can’t wait to see what’s next from this musically talented family!
