Everything is moving towards mobile more and more. In turn, we are seeing our phone batteries die faster. It can take upwards of 90 minutes to recharge your phone. Nanotech startup StoreDot has created a battery that can charge your smart phone in 2 minutes.

Rather than create a battery that has a higher capacity, they created one that is a bit smaller and charges faster. The battery doesn’t last as long (5 hours), but the task of charging is only 2 minutes. If you were watching a show, your phone would be charged by the time you reached the first commercial break.

StoreDot has plans to work on batteries for cars. The idea is to get the charge time of electric cars down from hours to minutes.
