Natalie Lauren Speaks On Working With Iggy Azalea
Natalie Lauren revealed via Facebook how she got a songwriting credit on Iggy Azalea’s latest album The New Classic.
We all started 2008 around the same time in the same studio as starving creatives. 2 yrs ago I got a call from @peezuschrist to come to London and work/write on Iggy’s album. Fresh out of a breakup and depressed I spent a month in London in a small 10×10 studio somedays writing and writing and writing… Eating cottage pie. The first song we finished was Work. Regardless of whether or not u like the content the song told Iggy’s true story of struggle sacrifice and hard work as an artist.
Today Work was certified Platinum.
1,000,000 copies sold!
So I guess this means I’m a platinum selling songwriter or something idk:) maybe my granny will believe I have a job now:)
Writing for secular artist is hard! It comes with much prayer, long convos & debates with @KB_HGA. Regret, Repentance & even Rejecting $

It’s never a song written on an island . Abuse of Liberties can dilute the mission, So I keep conservative friends @caressedionne close

Natalie Lauren is so crazy talented!
Natalie is my sister in the Lord and I love her dearly as well as my wife and kids.
So this black “christian” is a part of the appropriation and vulgar misuse of hip hop?
I just don’t get it. I guess I have misunderstood the scripture where the Lord Himself says, “COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM AND BE YE SEPARATE”. As a born again believer, writing for a secular artist whose aim is NOT to glorify God quite frankly should be more than just “hard”, but down right impossible and unimaginable b/c LIGHT has NO fellowship with darkness….gotta pray for these christian artists to take a stand, draw the line, and observe the plumb line and the foundation the Holy Spirit has already laid and established in the Spirit realm. Iggy’s music can move the crowd, but it can’t move God…
Do you work for a company that main goal is glorify God?
I think the difference is, in that company you’re not doing something that promotes a bad lifestyle. I’m not suggesting that Natalie Lauren isn’t saved, I’m just agreeing that Christians shouldn’t help promote and create something against God. You know what I’m saying?
I do get what you are saying, but the federal government is full of sin and corruption, not on some conspiracy stuff but I use to work for them, and many many companies are greedy which is sin as well.
That’s true, but your work wasn’t directly adding to/supporting the corruption. And in theory, it would be great for her to help co-write if she was the one having the influence on Iggy’s lyrics, and making them better, but that’s not how big record labels work. They would never allow that :/ Anyway, by co-writing the songs, she’s doing something directly morally corrupt. But then again, I wasn’t there during the process, so idk how it went down. I can only make predictions
So…. I can direct porn as long as I’m not in it? I mean I’m not the one affecting lives directly.
I think it is telling that Jam the Hype can’t post the lyrics to this song. I don’t care how talented Natalie Lauren is, if she is proud to admit she wrote that dreck then something is seriously wrong. Believe me, I don’t have a problem with Christian artists working with secular ones, but this song is terrible, the lyrical content has no redeeming value, and just based purely on artistic merit, it stands as a testament to how terrible most hip-hop is these days. But by all means, big up her for reaching platinum status. That is what is all about, right?
What!!! A Christian wrote the lyrics to the song “WORK”???!!! Could’ve fooled me ijs
