Editor’s Note: Earl “Praverb” Patrick McNease was one I’d consider a friend and was very much into promoting not only Christian hip-hop, but hip-hop in general to the masses. For those of you who didn’t know him, he was a social media nut (in a good way) and really did what he could to help teach artists how to best market themselves. He was a supporter of Jam The Hype and our goals and purpose. In response, we’ve teamed up with several other Hip-Hop Bloggers to help promote a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his funeral costs. Please consider contributing to his family. Thank you!

On September 17, 2014, the hip-hop community lost one of its most enthusiastic, devoted soldiers, Earl Patrick McNease. Known to all of us as Praverb, he was a rapper, DIY marketing expert, blogger, but more importantly, a sincere human being whose mission seemed to involve helping everyone who came across his path.
If you are a rapper or a publicist trying to make your name, you have probably stumbled upon his many lists of contacts: International Blogs, Radio Shows, etc. If you were on social media, you probably read one of his Twitter interviews or one of his motivational or instructional comments (he made Hip-Hop Wired’s #BlackTwitter100 list for his advice and wisdom).
Praverb leaves behind his wife Vanessa and their little son, Matthew. On September 17, Vanessa sent a Facebook status from his account informing his friends and family of his untimely passing. “The best way to honor my husband would be to continue to share his love of hip-hop and the word of God through his websites. This was his aspiration,” she wrote.
Wow, this is a shock. I didn’t know Praverb was from my city either…may many blessings and the Peace and comfort of our great LORD rest on his family!
