Andy Mineo, an emcee on Reach Records, recently spoke about his favorite Christian rappers and some dream collaborations in his interview with Jack Thriller of Thisis50.com.

“There was a group back in the day called Cross Movement,” says Andy Mineo in an interview with Thisis50. “This was early on. There is a dude name Ambassador [The Ambassador] and Da’ T.R.U.T.H., those guys were huge inspirations for me. Then there was a dude named Lecrae and I was listening to him, lo and behold, a few years later me and him connect, we work on a song, we shoot the music video here in mid-town, it blows up, it’s like 5 million hits on YouTube and now I’m signed to his label [Reach Records]. I’m making music with one of the dudes that inspired me the most. Big shout out to the homie Lecrae, big brother. He did all these outlets before I did and he is the one who got punched going through them first. He gets to pass down that information to me. Good advice he gives me, I want you to put on a 50 Cent record and I want you to put an Andy Mineo record right after and be like they both bang. I’m always trying to create my art with excellence. Dudes like Lecrae and other dudes at my label are always pushing me to make the best art possible and not get a pass just because of my content.”

Andy Mineo Wants To Introduce Something New To The Hip Hop Community  

“I think Hip Hop is always dopest when it introduces something new to the Hip Hop community,” says Andy to Jack Thriller. “When we are listening to Kanye, that’s probably a bad word around here, when we are listening to Kanye and he brings out Diamonds Are Forever,” people are saying diamonds are forever but that’s not a Hip Hop record but he made it a Hip Hop record. When we look at Run-DMC and they collaborated with Aerosmith, it’s like you’re introducing something new to the culture.
