About the Author

If one thing could describe Mike Laxton, it would be a passion for Christian music and a heart for youth ministry. Raised in a household that embraced music of all genres, mainstream and Christian, he started his journey into the Christian music industry over a decade ago. Starting out with street team promoting for major Christian artists while living in Chicago, he eventually moved back to his home in Tampa, finding himself working in talk and sports radio for Salem Communications before producing and co-hosting his own music and talk formatted radio show on one of their Tampa affiliates. His experience also includes commercial radio production as well as remote broadcast engineering for the Tampa Bay Rays and USF Bulls football. It is his experience, love for music and ministry, entrepreneurial spirit, and his personal testimony that brings him to the Hype Radio Network as Social News Coordinator and RHYTHMIC National Promotions Manager for Hype Radio's parent company, Shamrock Media Group. Currently, he is attending Full Sail University as an online student, working towards his Bachelor of Science in Music Business while residing in Tampa, FL with his wife and son. They plan to move to the Nashville area in the near future.
